CEICOM - The International Council of Museums Central European Group
The Central European Group of ICOM was informally established in Weimar in 1993.
Members of the CEICOM Group are the national committees of ICOM of the following countries:
Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
Most members of CEICOM are faced with similar problems caused by a transition period in Central Europe and so they are interested in co-operation and exchange of information and experiences.
CEICOM was conceived as an informal sub-regional working group without defined organisational structures. Therefore the members did not elect a chairman or other officers with official functions. Nevertheless the member countries succeeded to build up personal contacts and organized regular meetings as the basis for the exchange of information on the development in the member countries.
